The Parr Company is presently celebrating 90 years in the building industry as a fourth-generation, family-owned business. The Parr Company enterprise consists of five business divisions: Parr Lumber, Parr Cabinet Design Center, Quality Truss, Cascade Wholesale, and Trus-Way, for a combined total of 34 locations and almost 1000 employees in Oregon and Washington. In 2002, after years of selling materials for the home exterior, the enterprise decided to introduce products and services inside the home.

To get this idea off the ground, Parr brought in Jeff Cox, known for his extensive background in cabinet sales, to develop a business plan that would position the company as a market leader in cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Jeff started with one cabinet location in Hillsboro, OR. He made his mark by developing relationships in the industry, hiring top talent, and expanding the division’s footprint throughout the Pacific Northwest, creating what is now the Parr Cabinet Design Center division. Jeff has been the director of the cabinet division for 18 years. Today, there are nine Parr Cabinet Design Center locations and 49 employees, allowing Parr to service homeowners, builders, and remodelers with everything from design consultations and material selection to delivery and installation set-up.

Most notable of the Cabinet Design Center locations is the Parr Design Center showroom in Aloha, OR. This 8,500 Sq. Ft. showroom offers a stylish and comfortable environment where customers can compare and visualize the products they want to put in their homes. The heart of the showroom consists of ten fully assembled kitchen vignettes, displaying different kitchen design styles. Additional displays showcase hundreds of countertop finishes, cabinet door styles, hardware options, windows, and doors for every budget and taste. Making Parr Cabinet Design Center, a vital destination for anyone with a remodel project in mind.

The Parr Company has stayed open as an essential business during the COVID-19 pandemic to supply building materials to the homeowner and construction industry. Even though foot traffic has slowed for the cabinet division during this health crisis, Jeff remains confident in Parr’s ability to survive. “With almost a century of combined experience, there isn’t much that we haven’t already endured. Situations like this also allow us to grow and improve. We’ve had to re-evaluate our business tactics to find options that allow better social distancing interactions, like online design consultations and no-contact delivery. We may change how we do our day-to-day activities, but our company mission, Legendary Service Through Team Work, will remain steadfast. When folks walk into one of our locations, they aren’t just customers, they are neighbors, and we are committed to serving our community for years to come.”
